Raaz-The Mystery Continues

Mahesh Bhatt produced yet another horror flick Raaz -The Mystery Continues. This movie released on Jan 23rd 2009. This time it was directed by Mohit Suri and written by Shagufta Rafique. The first Raaz was directed by Vikram Bhatt. There are many comparisons between Raaz and Raaz: TMC.

The end of the movie is similar to many other horror movies. The character Prithvi played by Emraan Hashmi was similar to a character in Final destination.

The story revolves around a spiritual power which attacks various people like a preist , a foreigner, a police man and an innocent girl Nanditha (Kangana Ranaut).

Prithvi (Emraan Hashmi) an artist has premonitions about a girl whom he has never seen . She is actually Nanditha. Once they both meet and he warns her that she is in danger. She ignores his words. But finally realises he was telling the truth after she is attacked. She travels with the Prithvi to unravel the mystery by leaving behind her boyfriend Yash (Adhyayan Suman) to solve her problem.

They find out that the remaining people attacked by the same spirit were dead. The spirit actually belongs to Veer Prataap Singh (Jackie Shroff) who is Prithvi's father, who is killed by the three people who are killed. The reason why it is attacking Nandhitha is the remaining story.

Though the plot is not uncommon, the way the director has shot the movie has made it a success. The performance by the cast was good. Kangana Ranaut looked attractive and her character was also strong.

Raaz

Vikram Bhatt is one of the few directors who has explored the horror genre and done a great job of it in Raaz. Raaz was written by Mahesh Bhatt and Girish Dhamiza.

Raaz (2002) starts as a pleasant college story. The story is about a girl coming back from the dead for revenge. The girl will be Aditya's (Dino Morea) lover and because of some differences he avoids her. She commits suicide. Aditya and his servant bury her in the woods.

After some years he comes back to the same farm house in Ooty with his wife Sanjana (Bipasha Basu). Ooty becomes the setting of the movie and the story is about how Sanjana saves her husband with the help of a professor (Ashutosh Rana).

Unlike other movies, Raaz is shot in beautiful locations.

The credit for the movie's goes to director Vikram Bhatt. Bipasha Basu has performed very well as also Dino Morea though he could've been more expressive.
